 life groups

We believe that by fostering relationships, individuals are challenged to not only grow in their own spiritual walk but aid and
support the development of other member's growth as well.  In life groups, people study God's word, share in life's
achievements and failures, develop lasting and meaningful relationship with other individuals and are missed when they don't
show up. By doing life together these groups are able to able to more quickly meet needs of those in the group and the
community around them - we've found this to be another effective way to do ministry for Music City AG.

  WHAT IS A LIFE GROUP?
Life Groups are small groups of married couples or individuals that meet weekly in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible
study, and prayer. They are for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.

IS CHILDCARD PROVIDED FOR EACH GROUP MEETING?
Childcare is not provided.  Groups are responsible for making their own arrangements – some hire a caretaker while others
   rotate responsibilities among the parents.

WHEN AND WHERE DO GROUPS MEET?
Our groups generally meet Friday or Sunday evenings. While most groups meet in a consistent location (the home of a group
member), some groups prefer to take turns meeting in different members’ homes.

HOW OFTEN DO LIFE GROUPS MEET?
Most groups meet weekly, others meet every other week. Due to vacation schedules groups often do not meet during the
   summer.

HOW LONG DOES EACH GROUP MEETING LAST?
Most groups meet for an hour and a half to two hours.

WHAT GOES ON AT A GROUP MEETING?
Though each group differs in how they do things, many groups have a social time in the beginning, then they transition to a
time  where they discuss the curriculum they are studying and pray for each other.

  WHAT DO GROUPS STUDY?
Each group picks their own curriculum to study.  All curriculum is approved by the Adult Ministries Director for MCAG.

WILL I BE FORCED TO TALK OR CAN I JUST SIT AND LISTEN DURING THE MEETINGS?
No one is forced to talk or to lead the group. As the group develops, people become much more comfortable. We have
discovered that people who seldom speak up in large groups will talk in Life Groups.

HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT THE BIBLE?
None. Life Groups are all about learning the Bible not debating it or being tested on it.

HOW DO I JOIN A LIFE GROUP?
If you are interested in becoming a part of a life group or simply want to find out more information, you can do that by attending
Starting Point, new attender's lunch. Starting Point is the first Sunday of every month. You can register for the next Starting
  Point here.
